A fantastic opportunity to ascend the heights of the formidable Karakoram Mountains in the Hispar Muztagh sub-range is provided by the Yazghil Sar Expedition. Yazghil Sar Peak, which soars to a towering height of 7,324 metres (24,028 feet), is the 87th-highest peak in the world and the 37th-highest in Pakistan. Distaghil Sar, Kunyang Chhish, and Kanjut Sar are some of the other magnificent peaks that surround it. The Yazghil Glaciers and Yukshin Garden’s splendour can be discovered on this expedition.
Yazghil Sar features two summits, the tallest of which is the South Summit. The cultural value of this location is increased by the fact that the local populations use its lower slopes as grazing pastures.
The first successful expedition to conquer Yazghil Sar took place in 1988 under the direction of Ernie McGlashan, Jack Brindle, and John O’Reilly and used the peak’s North Ridge as a route. Local and foreign climbers have both shown increasing interest in reaching the summit and setting up base camps in this region over time.
The normal travel time from Shimshal Valley in the Gilgit-Baltistan region to Yazghil Sar is two days. Shimshal Valley and the Karakoram Highway are connected by a jeep and 4×4 road, making it possible to reach the beginning point of this thrilling trip.
The summer months, from May to August, are the ideal period for climbers to try the summit. Yazghil Sar is located in the Karakoram Mountain Range, a vast mountain range that crosses Pakistan and China. It spans a wide territory with dimensions of 500 kilometres in length and 200 kilometres in width and is notable for housing some of the highest peaks in the world, such as K2 and Nanga Parbat. Significant rivers like the Indus River and the Hunza River are also created by this range. Discover the splendour of the Karakorams and set out on an epic journey to conquer Yazghil Sar.
