Murree Tour: If you plan on spending several days in Islamabad and are interested in nature and scenery, the Murree Tour is another choice for sightseeing. The colonial legacy of the British Raj is entwined with the history of Murree as a hill station. When Murree was first built in the middle of the 19th century, it was intended as a summer retreat for British soldiers and officials hoping to escape the oppressive heat of the Indian plains. Murree was the perfect getaway because of its mild climate, lush forests, and breathtaking views of the surrounding hills
Murree became a key administrative and military hub during the British colonial era. The town’s advantageous location, tucked away in the Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas, gave authorities a vantage point from which to monitor the area and keep in touch with various sections of the British Indian Empire.
Murree progressively evolved over the years into a lovely hill station with colonial buildings, cute cottages, and meticulously maintained gardens. The Mall Road, a charming boulevard dotted with stores, cafes, and structures from the colonial era, developed into the center of the community’s social and economic life. Buildings like the General Post Office and St. Luke’s Church still display the majesty of the colonial era.
As time went on, Murree’s appeal grew beyond its colonial roots. The hill station remained a popular vacation spot for both domestic and foreign tourists after Pakistan attained independence in 1947. Murree is a popular spot for weekend getaways and family vacations because of its alluring scenery, comfortable climate, and proximity to important towns like Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
The town’s tourism sector grew and now provides a variety of lodging options, dining options, and leisure activities. Visitors could choose from a variety of activities that are tailored to their interests, such as horseback riding through pine forests or visiting the Murree Wildlife Park.
