All about the Kanjut Sar Expedition.

The Kanjut Sar Expedition, a spectacular trek to conquer one of the towering peaks of the Karakoram Range, presents an impressive mountaineering challenge. With a stunning height of 7,790 metres (25,761 feet), Kanjut Sar, located in the Hispar Muztagh sub-range, is the 11th-highest peak in Pakistan and the 26th-highest peak in the world.

The word “Kanjut” or “Kunjudh” is derived from the native Wakhi language and designates the lower Hunza region. For mountaineers who dare to ascend its heights, this enormous peak is a test of both prowess and tenacity.

Camillo Pellissier, a member of an Italian expedition that made history in the field of mountaineering, made the first successful ascent of Kanjut Sar in 1959.

With Kanjut Sar I reaching 7,760 metres (25,459 feet) and Kanjut Sar II rising at 6,831 metres (22,411 feet), Kanjut Sar can be further separated into two independent peaks.

A more difficult route can be taken from the Biafo Glacier in the Baltoro region, but your Kanjut Sar Expedition departs from the picturesque Hispar Valley in Gilgit-Baltistan, travelling the relatively shorter and simpler path through the Hispar Glacier. Between May and August, during Pakistan’s summer, is the best time to make the ascent to the peak.

Kanjut Sar is located in the Karakoram Mountain Range, which spans Pakistan and China and is home to some of the most famous peaks in the world, including K2 and Nanga Parbat.

At some locations, this massive range, which is 500 kilometres long and 200 kilometres wide, flawlessly connects with the Hindukush and Himalaya Mountains to create an astounding tapestry of natural splendour. A network of rivers, notably the huge Indus River and the Hunza River, decorate the area, adding to its allure.

The Kanjut Sar Expedition offers you the chance to prove your mettle against one of the world’s tallest peaks in the stunning Karakoram region, where adventure and the beauty of nature await you.
