All about the Istor-o-Nal Expedition.

The Istor-o-Nal Expedition is a thrilling trek into the Hindu Kush mountain range, a magnificent mountainous region where the spectacular Istor-o-Nal Peak awaits. This peak, which is proudly situated at a height of 7,403 metres (about 24,288 ft), ranks 68th among the world’s tallest summits. The name “Istor-o-Nal,” which in the local dialect of Chitral District translates to “Horseshoe,” honours the unusual shape of this imposing peak. Despite its size, Istor-o-Nal is partly hidden from view as it is located next to Tirich Mir, the jewel in the Hindu Kush Range, which soars to an astonishing height of 7,708 metres (about 25,289 ft), making it the highest mountain in the world.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan is graced by the natural wonder that is the Hindu Kush range, which extends over an enormous 800 kilometres. Before merging with the Himalayan and Karakoram mountain ranges in Pakistan’s northern regions, this mountainous marvel reaches across the border, engulfing both Pakistan and Afghanistan. It is a place of amazing natural beauty, boasting not only the splendour of its majestic mountains but also the exquisite valleys of Badakhsan and Chitral, which are frequently hailed as some of Pakistan’s most beautiful.

In 1955, an expedition headed by Pakistani Major Ken Bankwala on behalf of the Princeton Mountaineering Club successfully ascended the heights of Istor-o-Nal, adding to the mountaineering history of the Hindu Kush range. This outstanding accomplishment added a memorable chapter to mountaineering history by ranking as the second-highest summit ever attained by Americans at the time.

The Istor-o-Nal Expedition gives the chance to go through Pakistan’s Hindu Kush Mountains on an enthralling tour. The adventure offers not only a difficult ascent but also the satisfaction of seeing some of the world’s most impressive views of gigantic peaks and vast glaciers. This journey is an invitation to experience the raw beauty of nature and discover breathtaking vistas.

Join us as we journey deep into the Hindu Kush and strive to summit Istor-o-Nal Peak, a testament to human fortitude set against some of the most spectacular and mesmerising scenery on earth.
